平板夯工作原理：內燃式發動機通過離合器、皮帶輪，帶動偏心器產生振動，底板和偏心器固定在一起，可以通過轉動偏心塊來改變振動的方向。通過這種途徑可以實現向前振動、原地振動至后退振動之間無極調節。由內燃機（汽油機）提供動力，通過自動離合器由皮帶傳至起震體，通過發動機的高速旋轉產生強大的沖擊力從而實現對地基的夯實作業
